the queen of change 27 June, 2014

the-queen-of-change

So THAT was quite a ride. I’d even say “to the moon and back”. Yes, I’m back now with the honestly earned title “the queen of change” (or, as some might argue, “the queen of creating problems for myself”.) May be I’ll tell you this whole story one day, once I fully realize the true meaning of it all. But for now, all I say is that looks like it IS impossible to escape this California place. Just as they say in the Eagle’s song: “you can check out any time you want but you can never leave”. At least my first attempt to break away has failed. So here I am with totally new self, building a totally new life. I guess, I did manage to reinvent myself after all.

new beginnings 10 September, 2013

I guess it’s a part of all creative souls to be fully present and then burn out. When a dream has faded and became unbearable.  And the only solution is to pack and run.

So there has been a lot of packing and running and unpacking again. A lot of touching moments and sweetest “till i see you again”s.  Followed by a lot of silence, taking a moment just to be.  Without any plans or expectations from self.  May be for the first time, a road without a final destination, without a goal. Scary and refreshing. Learning patience and simplicity.

And now, it’s all coming back. With blood pumping through the veins in the new way. There are big changes in the making. They are still too young to tell but soon to reveal.

All I can say for now is that I’m becoming a new persona.

bolshoi 10 June, 2012

Ask and you shall receive and sometimes received BIG, in my case “Bolshoi” BIG. Just when I brought up being spontaneous, I managed to get 2 tickets to one of 5 sold-out performances of Swan Lake by Bolshoi Theater in LA … the night before the show. The newly-born spontaneity guru in me is having blast, the planner in me is terrified of me almost missing the one performance I was dying to see for a long time due to lack of organization and proper scheduling.

Needless to say, the performance was magnificent: immaculate techniques and out-of-worldly grace and elegance of the dancers; lavish costumes and, of course, the Music so powerful and consuming. Everything came together for a one in a life time experience.  Juxtaposition of love and  fate, beauty and passion, light and dark totally transfers you to a surreal world of imagination.

I give this one to the planner girl, I wish I had time to savor the anticipation a little bit more. May be one day (when I grow up:), I’ll actually get to experience this ultimate perfection of art on the home field, t.e. The Bolshoi Theater. After the remodel, it looks simply stunning. Quite an experience of its own.

love is in the air 13 February, 2012

Even though I’m a strong believer in  expressing love in every little thing on the daily basis, some extra affection has never hurt anybody. So I hope you pause this busy Tuesday and get a chance to give and receive some :)

This post I want to dedicate to YOU… you know who you are (if not, look one more time at the image below:). Thanks for always looking at the bright side and cheering me up when I run low on the Endorphins. I HEART you!

the dream vacay: part 1 2 November, 2011

I promised to share, once I get back to normal pace..so I finally went through trillion of snaps and put together a little collage of the first stop of our dreamy vacation this last September.

We’ve spent an incredible 5 days in the most beautiful city in the world and it felt more like a teaser for the future come-backs. You really can’t have enough of that place no matter how long you stay there.

Now I have to say something in my defense. You say: “Beret, stripe top and Eiffel Tower. Could you be any more innovative?”.  And I say: “Please, let the girl get it out of the system right away!”.  I’ve DONE all of the clichés and I’m PROUD of it!

Even if Paris wouldn’t have had a single site to see, the food and long walks would still lit the lights!

Macarooooons! Need I say more?!

Style vs. Comfort?! It was never a question for me. If you have to suffer in order to wear THOSE shoes, then this will be it! Practicing what I preach, I was teh only one climbing the stairs of the Eiffel Tower in hills.  But at the end of the day after walking the streets, the gilded halls, then streets again and some more gilded halls even I gave up. So, YES we did wrinkle the perfectly groomed Versailles lawns.

PS. Honey, thank you for letting me borrow you stylishly comfy sneakers! Love ya!
