It’s been 3 days since I had my last chocolate and I’m…..feeling FINE! Surprisingly, I’m still alive and haven’t destroyed anything in the rage of chocolate-obsessed anger. On the opposite, I’m buddah-calm and very positive! You’d ask “why do you, poor little thing, torture yourself?” (and knowing me, you’d be totally right). However, not only I’ve decided to support my family in the Great Lent (where you become vegan for 40 days), moreover I want to practice my mental strength in restrain of something I desire the most. Somehow I feel more in control now, I don’t need to eat sweets to improve my mood or feel better.
I’m a super-human! And to prove that, I’m posting this incredibly saliva-secreting video which I watched a few times together with other mind-boggling dessert recipes (watch at your own risk!).

I’ve been shopping on registry lists quite a lot lately, which made me wish we’ve had “the American” wedding. Since there is no tradition of wedding registry in Russia, I feel like I’ve missed out on a great opportunity to score some beautiful dinnerware (‘coz let’s face it – when else would you treat yourself to a hundred-dollar plate?!).
So I’ve decided to put together my registry for “just in case” occasion…that is just in case I have extra $100 laying around. The first on the list would come the new DVF Home Collection. So fun and whimsy, it brings the memories of warm summer evenings…
…when you can pick a fresh bouquet,
…chase butterflies,
…gaze into the night sky laying on the beach,
…be creative and artsy,
…or try something new and unexpected.

On my last day of internship at HBA a good friend of mine treated me to a lunch at the long-loved spot in Brentwood, Tavern. From the moment I walked in I couldn’t stop gasping at the ambiance of it. Opened by award-wining chef and restaurateur Suzanne Goin and designed by Jeffrey Alan Marks, the space seems to epitomize everything I long for both in design and in food recently. Elevated French Provincial style all to the little details, fresh organic ingredients, rustic breads and French desserts in any form and shape. Take me there any day, any time…

Hope all of you have had a wonderful Valentines Day and stacked up on sugary confections. I came across Sweetapolita Blog right before the big day and had already made other cooking arrangements to surprise my hubby, but have I been inspired! Besides having 2 cutie-pie daughters, Rosie from Sweetapolita has an amazing baking creativity and her fun projects can leave even the most sugar-overdosed hearts craving for some more.
