amidst 8 February, 2012

In the middle of the unpleasantly tiring day, i was swept away by this beauty which totally made me reflect back and think how easy it is to get consumed by small things and stop paying attention to what really matter.

i want to go home 15 December, 2011

May be because I’ve been completely swamped with work for the past 2 months, sleepless and feeding only on the baked good donated by others… or  it’s THAT time of the year again when I start craving snow, but now like never before I want to be home. Even though the reality of the Russian winter is rarely this glamorous, there is definitely a certain hint of magic in the air.

the magic of the yellow pants 8 November, 2011

I have to say something here.  A week before we took off for THE vacation, I was killing an extra hour in a mall. Didn’t need to buy anything – just ‘coz! And then…I’ve bought the yellow pants. Contradicting my practical shopping habits I didn’t plan on getting them, I didn’t think twice and moreover I had nothing to pair them up with.

Was I sticking out of the crowd on the “pre-fashion week” streets of Paris? Hmmm, kinda. Did I make a statement and turn heads? Hell yeah! So guess what, now everywhere I look I see THE YELLOW PANTS!

Have I started the trend?

the dream vacay: part 1 2 November, 2011

I promised to share, once I get back to normal pace..so I finally went through trillion of snaps and put together a little collage of the first stop of our dreamy vacation this last September.

We’ve spent an incredible 5 days in the most beautiful city in the world and it felt more like a teaser for the future come-backs. You really can’t have enough of that place no matter how long you stay there.

Now I have to say something in my defense. You say: “Beret, stripe top and Eiffel Tower. Could you be any more innovative?”.  And I say: “Please, let the girl get it out of the system right away!”.  I’ve DONE all of the clichés and I’m PROUD of it!

Even if Paris wouldn’t have had a single site to see, the food and long walks would still lit the lights!

Macarooooons! Need I say more?!

Style vs. Comfort?! It was never a question for me. If you have to suffer in order to wear THOSE shoes, then this will be it! Practicing what I preach, I was teh only one climbing the stairs of the Eiffel Tower in hills.  But at the end of the day after walking the streets, the gilded halls, then streets again and some more gilded halls even I gave up. So, YES we did wrinkle the perfectly groomed Versailles lawns.

PS. Honey, thank you for letting me borrow you stylishly comfy sneakers! Love ya!

i’m back…at least my body is 15 October, 2011

3 weeks ha? Do you ever get a feeling like you’ve been away for the whole lifetime but somehow have been brainwashed so you don’t remember a thing of the past few weeks. Well…this is how I feel, only the half-unpacked suitcases and a luggage-smashed box of macaroons bring some vague memories of another life. Another life where everything was drenched in sun and sugar, where the mornings were lazy and streets smelled of fresh bread, where reality was finally better than the dreams and I’ve never before felt so alive.

And all I want to do now is curl up in bed so none of these escapes me, so I can hold on to this for as long as possible.

I promise to share some of it soon, just need to finish unpacking first.
